The laboratory was founded in 1987 as a subdivision of the Central Laboratory of Scientific Research. During 27 years of activity, extensive research was conducted on the most important allergology and immunology issues: the epidemiological, clinical-immunological characteristics of allergic diseases in various ecological areas of Moldova; elaboration of population health monitoring criteria; clinical-evolutionary and immunoallergological features in children and adults; appreciation of the diagnostic information of different traditional and high-performance methods; development of unique allergens from the regional flora with the appreciation of biochemical and immunobiological particularities and based on this, establishment of various immunoenzymatic test systems for in vitro diagnostics.
The immunomodulatory properties of some pharmaceutical remedies in traditional supplemental therapy have been highly appreciated.
The laboratory represented the scientific basis for the development of the immunological sections of many Doctor Habilitated and PhD dissertations completed by a series of collaborators of N. Testemitanu University and other scientific medical institutions.
The laboratory constitutes the postgraduate training center for laboratory physicians in the field of immunology.
